Jonathan Elimu Thompson (born November 1st, 1985), known professionally as Elmi, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, raised in Toronto, Ontario. Elmi first gained attention as wheelchair bound Jimmy Brooks in the Canadian TV show Degrassi. He later garnered critical acclaim as a rapper, having released several mixtapes before being signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment in June 2009.
